Use the ZMS application during this special World music night to interact with people around the scene and share your emotions and best moments through pictures, videos, and even audio recording!
A bit of History: The first Fete de la Musique (or World Music Day) took place 30 years ago, in 1982 in Paris.
It’s still an all-night music celebration during the longest day of the year, the 21st of June!
The World Music Day is completely different from another typical music festival; it’s above all a free popular party, open to any participant – professional or amateur – who wants to perform in it – most of the time in the streets.
All concerts are totally free to make all kinds of music accessible to all kinds of people!
The Fête de la Musique began in France but has since spread to many countries. It now takes place in 110 countries and more than 340 cities around the entire globe, such as: Argentina, Belgium, Greece, Canada, Germany, Switzerland or even the United States!
For this 31st edition, we will celebrate the 50 years of Pop music! And here are few examples of concerts all over the globe:
- in Geneva, various talented artists born in the city will be on stage at the “Bastion des réformateurs” place.
- in London, a huge outdoors concert will take place in Kensington’s gardens at Hyde Park on the 23rd of June.
- in New York, over 70 punk bands will play throughout Governors Island (nicknamed “Punk Island” for the day!).

- in Lyon, the famous “Boulevard Eléctro” will take place all night long from 9 p.m. on the “Jean Jaurès Avenue”
